These beautiful glass items were made by Luigi Straffi
Tiffany Lamps The Iris Lamp was first created in the L.C. Tiffany Studios around
1900 as a hanging lamp . The original Iris Lamp is still in the
family for which it was commissioned. As proud as Louis Comfort
Tiffany was of his beautiful windows, he was equally delighted
with his lamps. This new art form became possible and practical
through the invention of the electric light bulb by Thomas Edison.
No longer did Louis Comfort Tiffany have to rely on sunlight
to illuminate his glass.
