NEOCLASSICISM Neoclassicism  is a term used to identify art forms between about 1750 and 1840. Characteristics were a desire for naturalness, simplicity, and mythological historical subjects were often used.  The style continued until the early 19th century. Discoveries in Greece and Rome had revived interest in classical art and literature,  and art reflected simple lines and a sense of order.
