Born in Caprese, Italy Michelangelo's talent was recognized by Lorenzo de'Medici who took him to live with their family. His main interest was in Sculptures, but the fresco paintings he did for the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel were regarded as one of the crowning achievements of the Renaissance Period.
