Bryn Terfel
Born in North Wales in 1965 he studied at the Guildhall School of Music and
Drama in London. Winning the Lieder Prize at the Cardiff Singer of the World
Competition in 1989 brought him to prominence. His operatic debut with the Welsh
National Opera was in 1990, and he sung at Covent Garden for the first time two
years later. In 1994 he made his debut at the Met in New York.
